I haven't written anything for a very long time, so let me tell you about my trip to Montenegro! Yes, even I sometimes leave the house… There won't be much text, so consider this another photo report.
The trip was super spontaneous, to be honest: someone asked me "Are you going?", and I answered: "Oh, yeah!" I wanted to visit Montenegro last year — I was invited in roughly the same way back then, but apparently, I didn't want it as much, plus there were hassles with the travel route and other little things.
In moments like these, you especially feel that serenity of not depending on anyone: no girlfriend, no child, no pet… And you can allow yourself spontaneous moves without any "amazing" rituals. I'm genuinely glad if right now you've thought that I'm selfish — you have every right to think so.
Actually, my friend Denis invited me, and I could stay at his place (he lives there), saving a ton of money on accommodation. I "booked" my vacation for just one week, so I wouldn't have time to get bored and wouldn't annoy Denis with my presence.
As soon as I landed, I felt an amazing contrast with rainy and gray Warsaw: here it was extremely hot with a clear beautiful sky! Fifteen minutes in that sun — and I was already red…
I was picked up in Podgorica, and right after that we went to buy a hookah. A very important purchase, I think, because in Tivat, where we were heading, there were only a couple of places where such pleasure cost 50 euros per session! So we decided to "outsmart the whole world" and buy our own hookah — it turned out to be way cheaper. After the purchase, we headed to Tivat.
I asked to go through the mountains, thinking: "What's so scary about that?" And it really wasn't scary, but reality crept up from the motion sickness side…
It's a very beautiful country, although you can feel a slight poverty — but that's normal, even more pleasant than looking at European palaces.
The vacation itself was planned without much local traveling: swimming — home. I'm not a fan of exploring dungeons and other attractions during vacation, it's exhausting. For me, rest is more about giving my soul a break from any thoughts. And that's pretty much how it went: swim in the sea, eat, and puff on a hookah in silence, contemplating the infinite and eternal.
Montenegro has very delicious meatballs — definitely try them if you're here!
As I said, there's not much to tell, but the impressions were only positive. I was glad to go and I think I'll go again!
I met a very nice family, Denis's friends. We already knew each other indirectly, but we met and talked for the first time. Very kind and hospitable people — I was glad to meet them and want to say a huge thank you for the help they gave me!
And a special huge thank you to Denis for organizing this whole trip!
— Why is the water on fire?
— Well, you set it on fire!
